Business Intelligence Developer at Epic

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Sarah Sebrosky, and I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Studio Arts. I’m originally from Maryland, though I suppose now I’m from Wisconsin, since I recently moved here to start a career.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Business Intelligence Developer at Epic. In English, that means I work on databases and reports for Epic, an integrated electronic medical record system.

Describe your typical work week

Typically, I get to work at around 8 or 8:30 and stay until 5. Each day is a little different. Sometimes, I’m working on simple SQL fixes and documentation. Other times I’m testing other developer’s code. Lately, I've been working with SAP Business Objects software to create new ways of reporting for our customers.

What CIS class or classes do you feel benefited you the most?

I think both the Intro to Databases and the Data Structures classes were invaluable to my work now.
