Dr. Stephen Jodis came to Saint Vincent College in July of 2011 to serve as the Dean of the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computing. Prior to that he was a faculty member at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia.
Dr. Jodis has a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree and his Master’s and Ph.D are from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering all from Auburn University.
At Armstrong, Dr. Jodis was a tenured faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and prior to coming to Saint Vincent he served as Interim Dean of the College of Science and Technology.
His favorite classes as an undergraduate were those related to computer hardware, learning programming languages, artificial intelligence, parallel computing and advanced computer architectures. Outside of computing, he enjoyed his core courses in history and philosophy.
He enjoys teaching courses in programming and ethics.
Outside of his work at the College he enjoys running, golfing, following sports, playing the electronic keyboard, and learning more about his Filipino wife’s culture.
