Chapter 4
Although this homework will not be collected, quiz and test questions are usually
very similar to the homework problems. By doing the homework problems you will get
a lot of practice before you reach a test. Note that brief answers to the odd-numbered
problems can usually be found in the back of the book.
- Section 4.1, Numbers 5, 7, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 25, 37, 39, 63, 65, 71,
Hints: In 13 and 15 factor completely, then use the factor theorem. In 37 and 39 use the factor theorem.
In 63 and 65 do not use division; just graph by plotting points.
In 71, graph with your calculator, using your zero key to find x-intercepts
and the maximum or minimum key to find extreme points.
