Welcome

We are the teaching department for computing and offer a complete major in CIS. The major currently has a choice of a CS (computer science), IT (information technology), BIN (bioinformatics), or SEC (computer security) concentration. The minor is flexible, allowing specializations in areas such as computer security, web technologies, databases, mathematics & computing, and programming languages.

Computing grabs 3 of the 10 slots in the top-paid majors for the college class of 2010. (Note that these are average figures. In an area with a low cost of living the salaries would be lower.)

NY Times reports starting salaries rose 5.8% for graduates with a computer-related degree, even when salaries slipped 1.7% for all bachelor's degree graduates. Further good news: all of our CIS grads from the 2009-2010 year found jobs in computing.
