NSF Scholarship Program

For Supporting Academic Success and Technology Workforce Preparedness

The time period for this NSF grant project has now come to an end.

It its original form, this National Science Foundation grant provided scholarships for Computing & Information Science majors who would graduate by spring or fall of 2006. Awardees participated in program activities designed to help them to succeed and to prepare them for careers in this field. The original form of this grant project is described further in the Old Description of the Scholarship Program.

The NSF extended the time period of the grant so that additional students were eligible for these scholarships. See the New Version of the Scholarship Program. However, the time period has now expired for adding new students to this program. Students who already have one of the NSF scholarship can continue to receive them as long as they fulfill the requirements of the program.

The related site Women in Computing was created by and for female computing students. It was, in part, an attempt to recruit additional female computing majors, which was one goal of the grant project. This site remains part of our effort to bring more female students into the field of computing and to provide them a home.
