Technical Information

Contact Br. David if you are a CIS major, minor, or student in a CIS class who needs an account on either of the CIS servers. Also, see Br. David about problems with these accounts. Note: it is best to compile all of your programs on your M drive (which is much larger) and then to copy just the needed homework file(s) to your homework drive. For technical help with our computer systems contact:

Br. David Carlson (david.carlson@email.stvincent.edu,
James Hoffman (james.hoffman@email.stvincent.edu) for the PCs and Windows server,
Derek Kaser (derek.kaser@email.stvincent.edu) for any of our systems,
or Joe Anderson (joe.anderson@email.stvincent.edu) for our Unix server.

Short Notes

  • If a CIS lab PC displays a message indicating that it cannot find the CISDEPT domain when you try to logon, simply reboot the machine. This will usually fix the problem. If not, report this to Br. David.
  • Wireless access is available in the CIS lab. See Br. David for the settings to use.
