Server Downtimes
- Technically the servers are not down when a tape backup is running,
but it is best not to use them during a backup.
- System backups on the CIS Windows 2008 server are typically done at the following times:
- Mon, Wed, Fri approximately 2:00 am - 4:00 am
- Sat approximately 2:00 AM - 7:00 am
- System backups on the CIS Unix server are typically done at the following times:
- Mon, Wed, Fri approximately 2:00 am - 3:00 am
- Sat approximately 2:00 AM - 7:00 am
- Do not use the servers, mapped network drives, etc. at these times unless really necessary as
reliable backups cannot be made of files that are in use.
It is to your own advantage to have your files backed up.

NOTE: Any scheduled server outages will be announced in advance.
However, an unscheduled outage may occur at any time if a significant need arises.
