ProLogic, Inc. Project

Beginning with fall 2005, the CIS Department collaborated with ProLogic, Inc. to provide paid on-campus internships (and similar experiences). This provided computing students with a unique opportunity to obtain industry experience without having to leave campus.

In fall 2005 these internships were done as one possible project within the Software Engineering course, CS 355. The interns selected worked to develop software from a portion of actual Department of Defense requirement specifications. These specifications described a software application that was capable of sending and receiving JREAP (Joint Range Extension Application Protocol) messages as bit-oriented data fields using the TCP protocol.

In spring 2006 some students worked on this ProLogic endeavor as their senior project in the CIS major. Other students worked on this ProLogic project as an internship or similar experience.

In summer 2006 several students worked nearly full-time in the ProLogic computer lab here at Saint Vincent College.

For the 2006 - 2007 academic year, ProLogic sponsored another software engineering project, with several students taking part. Similar work was done in the 2007-2008 academic year and in the fall semester of 2008. The ProLogic project took a break during the spring 2009 and fall 2009 semesters. We hope that the project will start up again soon but do not yet know for sure.
