Courses in Web Design
The Computing & Information Science Department and the Communication
Department have several web-related courses for students interested in a career in
webpage design, web programming, e-commerce, etc. The Communication Department
courses are in the general area of webpage design. The Communication courses focus more
on web design, while the CIS courses focus more on web programming.
Remember that any student doing a CIS major or minor can include one computer-related course from outside
the CIS department, subject to the approval of the CIS department chairperson. For a CIS major, such a
course would count as one of the four CIS electives. The web courses from the Communication department
are good candidates for this "outside the CIS department" course used to fulfill part of the CIS major
or minor requirements.

CIS Web Courses
These 3 CIS courses should be taken by any CIS major or minor interested in a web-related career.
Other students interested in such a career are urged to take these courses as well.
Other Web-Related CIS Courses
Other CIS courses are helpful for a web-related career. Although some of these may not directly
include web-related material, they have fairly direct application to webpage programming and design.
No student is likely to take all of these, but instead can choose those that fit best with
one's interests.
